Ingredients:

  • 300 grams ground pork
  • 1/4 onion
  • 2 handfuls bean sprouts
  • 1 egg
  • Cooking oil as needed

Seasoning ingredients:

  • 5 tablespoons glutinous rice flour
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cooking wine
  • 1/2 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green onion
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • black pepper

Batter ingredients:

  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water

(serves 2 to 3)

Instructions:

Finely chop the onion, and blanch the bean sprouts briefly in boiling water. Drain well and chop finely.

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, bean sprouts, onion, egg and all seasoning ingredients. Mix well and knead until thoroughly combined.

Shape the mixture into small rounds, and use a chopstick to poke a hole in the center of each one to form a donut shape.

In a pan, heat a small amount of oil and cook the meat donuts until golden brown on both sides.

Coat the meat donuts in the batter, then deep-fry at 170 degrees Celsius until crispy.

Serve the meat donuts on a plate and, if desired, pair them with a cabbage salad.
