With the United States at the peak of global power thanks to its unmatched economic and military capabilities, South Korea has been ranked sixth in the 2025 world power survey conducted by US News & World Report. The study was carried out in partnership with BAV Group of the WPP network and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
미국이 압도적인 경제력과 군사력을 바탕으로 전 세계 최강국의 지위를 유지하는 가운데, 미국 뉴스 전문지 US 뉴스 앤드 월드 리포트(US News & World Report)가 실시한 ‘2025 세계 영향력 국가 순위’에서 한국이 6위를 차지했다. 이번 조사는 WPP 네트워크 산하 BAV그룹과 미국 펜실베이니아대 와튼스쿨이 공동으로 진행했다.
The ranking was determined based on an equally weighted average of five attributes: leadership influence, economic influence, political influence, strong international alliances and strong military capacity.
조사는 지도력 영향력, 경제적 영향력, 정치적 영향력, 국제적 동맹의 강도, 군사력 등 다섯 가지 항목을 동일한 비중으로 평가해 순위를 산정했다.
The survey placed the US first, followed by China and Russia. South Korea earned sixth place, supported by recognition of its technological innovation and expanding military capacity, joining the top tier of nations in global perception of national strength.
이번 조사에서 미국이 1위를 차지했으며, 중국과 러시아가 그 뒤를 이었다. 한국은 기술 혁신력과 확대되는 군사 역량이 높게 평가돼 6위에 올랐다. 이는 세계가 인식하는 국가 경쟁력 측면에서 한국이 최상위권에 진입했음을 의미한다.
As South Korea rises in global standing, its strong performance in innovation, exports and military capability continues to bolster its national brand in an evolving international order.
한국은 혁신, 수출, 군사 역량 등 다양한 분야에서 두각을 나타내며 국제사회에서의 위상을 높여가고 있다. 이러한 성과는 변화하는 국제 질서 속에서 한국의 국가 브랜드 가치를 더욱 강화하는 원동력이 되고 있다.
