Rev. Edward Lowney, OMI passed away at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Residence in Tewksbury, MA today, January 20, during the early hours and after a long stretch of ill health.

Fr. Lowney was 75 years old. He was born on May 13, 1930 in Lowell, MA. Over the years he ministered in Japan and Florida and was at St. William's in Tewksbury from 1991 to 2001. He was chaplain at Tewksbury State Hospital from September of 1991 until November of 2000 when he was forced to retire due to his health. He moved to the Oblate Retirement Residence in February, 2001.
